Driving Ambition with Andrew Strauss OBE

The dream of being England captain

I joined Nathaniel Schooler and former England Cricket captain Andrew Strauss OBE, as we talked about the journey to the top.

We talked about the early days of Andrew’s career and his dream of becoming England Cricket captain and what it was like to score a century at Lords on his debut. We found out what the biggest lesson from playing sport professionally has helped throughout the rest of life.

And we discussed grief and how Andrew coped with the diagnosis and death of his wife Ruth in 2018. Andrew set up the Ruth Strauss Foundation whose aim is to fight the lung cancers you don’t hear about and support the suffering you don’t see.
